This is because Dolphin does not have accurate GPU timings the game actually runs closer to 20 FPS on a Wii in traffic. This game is extremely difficult to run full-speed on the default settings. This bug has been verified to happen on Wii and is not a flaw in Dolphin. If MMU Emulation is off, instead of crashing the game will throw "Invalid Read Errors" instead. If an AI driver or player driver invalidly enters pit lane while at max damage, the game can crash. This game has bugs leading to game crashes. To fix, migrate controls to use separate physical controllers. If a physical controller is set to emulate both a GameCube Controller and a Wii Remote concurrently, it will operate both devices at the same time.
